Editorial Reviews

Booklist
Any hopes Kell Sabin has about taking a month's vacation from work vanish the minute several of Kell's "business associates" try to kill him. Although he manages to escape with just a bullet hole or two, he wouldn't have survived if Rachel Jones hadn't found him when he washed ashore not far from her cottage on Diamond Bay. Because her previous career as an investigative journalist taught her that things are not always what they seem, Rachel knows she is going to have to find out more about the wounded man who ends up in her home. Helping Kell is a risk Rachel is willing to take, but the risk becomes even greater once Rachel realizes she is falling in love with a man with no future. Composed of equal measures of scorching passion and adrenaline-fueled suspense, this is vintage Howard (newly published in hardcover) that still casts a potent literary spell years after it was first released.
Library Journal
There's nothing like rescuing a wounded man to bring a little excitement into your life, but when Rachel Jones pulls agent Kell Sabin from the Florida surf, she gets a lot more danger—and romance—than she'd bargained for in this riveting romance that was first released as a Silhouette Intimate Moments title in 1987. This follows Midnight Rainbow (reissued by Severn House in 2009).

I'm a hardcore reader, disabled and reading at least a book every 2 days.

More publishers are doing this despicable practice; reissuing previously published novels by popular writers without an obvious display that it was previously issued. Consumers are lucky if there is a sticker that says "First Time in Print". I first noticed re-issues/re-packaged especially with Nora Roberts but seeing it more with other authors as well. It doesn't matter to a reader who has read it before!! I always buy by author and would grab books in the new book section but now have to study the copywrite or read pages to make sure it is not a re-issue. Greatly disappointed that this is not a new book by Linda Howard, one of my favorite writers. I've managed to get all her older books by used book websites and have kept them to re-read. I don't desire to re-buy them however.

Not a new book. Don't be fooled

This is a reissue of a 1987 Harlequin book. It is a good book with a plucky heroine and a mysterious hero, vintage Linda Howard. I am a long-time fan and would recommend most any of her earlier books to romance readers.

    LIKE L. HOWARD'S UNDER COVER-COVERT SERIES

REALLY ENJOYED MIDNIGHT RAINBOW--DIAMOND BAY AND WHITE LIES. REALLY LIKED THE 'SABIN' CHARACTER, AND BRINGING BACK GRANT & JANE FROM MIDNIGHT RAINBOWS. BROUGHT IN HUMOR!!

    Buy it for a buck

Great Linda Howard classic, part of a four book series, but it is about 20 years old. Go to any used book store and buy it for a buck or two. Was even re-released years ago in a two volume paper back set. The companion books, in order, are Midnight Rainbow, Diamond Bay, Heartbreaker, and White Lies. This series, along with the Mackenzie series, and the CIA series (John Medina) are dated, campy, cliched, and I love them all so much I re-read them every year or two.

    I Also Recommend:

    An Exciting, Suspenseful Book

This book is a good reader. The characters are good. It has suspense and romance. You don't know the ending until you get there. Would recommend this book to anyone.

    Don't read this one first!!

Great story, I would suggest reading Midnight Rainbow first, Diamond Bay second and White Lies third, they are all wonderful romance stories (with plots - really) and refer to characters in the other books - hence the recommended order..
