Texas rancher Jason Donavan was known for his temper, his brooding nature and his deep distrust of women. No one at the Diamond Spur ranch could stand his moods--except Kate Whittman.
Kate was young and inexperienced, but she knew that Jason was the only man for her. She wanted him more than anything, but he offered her only brotherly protection--until the day she discovered that Jason's desire was as strong as her own.
But Jason was not interested in commitment, or marriage, and especially not love. So Kate pursued another fantasy--becoming a successful New York fashion designer. But just when it seemed that her fairy tale was coming true, fate brought her back to Texas. To Jason. And to a dream that she'd almost abandoned...

I loved this one! It had enough heartbreak and make-up in it to satisfy me! I loved Jason although at times he was sort of abusive. But he was a great character anyways. I loved Kate! She was the best heroine I've read so far!!! All in all...I loved this book.

The main characters, Jason and Kate, had a rough time getting it together. I was frustrated with the verbal abuse that Jason repeatedly used on Kate. What a heal! She was too young for him! He needed to be taken to the barn by the hired hands and taught a lesson. Her mother should never have encouraged her daughter to an abusive man. That said, it all worked out in the end (of course), but I still didn't like Jason.

I did not like Jason. He was abusive and needed to be taken out behind the barn by the hands for a 'wake up' call. I don't like bullies. He was hateful to Kate--HATEFUL! She was too young for him!!!!! And shame on Kate's mother for encouraging a relationship with a bully and mean spirited person with a lot of 'baggage,' so that her daughter can 'move up' in life. And, how stupid to start off as a rich Texas cattle rancher, with 2,000 head, Mercedes, fancy house, fancy dinner parties, but can't afford to pave their driveway???? Then, find out he hasn't been able to pay his mortgage and is days from foreclosure, yet he rushes off to spend 6 weeks in Australia and all the other traveling he does--IN STYLE. I can appreciate some imagination, but this was totally off base. From a fellow Texan and ranch owner!

I read this book in one day. I couldn't put it down. It was heartwarming, sexy, humorous, and in some places, I had to wipe tears from my eyes so I could see to read. I loved it and I think I'm addicted to Diana Palmer's books.!!!!!
