"Diane Fitzgerald, the queen of beautiful beadweaving, takes us on an adventure into creating three-dimensional beaded geometric shapes. Start with two-dimensional shapes and learn how to properly increase and decrease to create angles and curves. Then, move on to create open shapes, and then finally the awesome three-dimensional designs like you see on the cover. Intimidated? Don't be! Diane is a magnificent teacher and takes good care to make sure her students are successful!" - Bead Unique magazine, October 2011

"The illustrations are clear, the instructions concise, and there are lots of inspirational photos throughout. For anyone interested in understanding geometric beadwork, this book is a must-have." - Bead&Button magazine

"A true breakthrough in the art of beadwork." - Booklist

Library Journal
These two books feature jewelry projects using traditional beading stitches. Right-angle weave designs are based on a series of squares, while peyote stitch can be used to form several geometric shapes. Both DeCoster and Fitzgerald (Zulu Inspired Beadwork) use these in projects for fine costume jewelry. DeCoster's include ropes and mesh pieces. Fitzgerald's have small elements linked together. Uniformly good design characterizes both books.

I really enjoyed all of the ideas in this book. Since I had never done Peyote stitch before, I needed more than the illustration in this book. I looked online and found one that was easier for me to understand and was able to do it. The book is inspirational. It is amazing how many things can be created using these techniques.

I like the book and, it is easy to read and follow, but I was a tad disappointed in the amount of different shapes offered. It looked like a lot more when thumbed through. When I got it home, I realized it was just repeats of a few basic shapes done in different colors. Overall, it was fine and I will keep it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip through the book. THe pictures are fantastic and the projects are wonderful. As a fairly experienced beader I was looking for this kind of book for the different shapes and designs. I have only tried a couple of the projects and I did find the directions a bit confusing, but with the photos, I figured it out. I especiall liked the open work projects. I will definitely recommend this book to my beaders group.
