Overview

Never judge a book by its cover. . .

Xavier Preston is tall, dark, and handsome, and the problem is that he knows it. He's a bestselling author who is accustomed to adoring female fans, both young and old, flirting with him, throwing themselves shamelessly at him, and trying to get between more than the covers of his novels. He has always been more than willing to accommodate their needs and desires; however, his womanizing days have finally ended. He's engaged to a beautiful woman, Kendall, and he's decided to walk the straight and narrow. Or has he?

From outside appearances, the very stunning Pilar has it all: a great career, a beautiful home, and a trust fund that keeps her financially secure; however, looks can be deceiving. All that glitters isn't necessarily gold. Pilar is searching for her perfect soulmate, and she thinks she has found him in Xavier. She believes in going after what she wants with a vengeance . . . and she wants Xavier. That is not negotiable. She will have him, even if it kills him.

When Xavier meets his fanatical fan, Pilar, he gets much more than he bargained for. What starts out as an erotic one-night stand quickly spirals out of control into a dangerous game of obsession and pain with both parties playing to win.

Think you know what goes on behind the literary scene? Think again.

    An Ok Fast Read

This was an ok fast read. It reminded me of MB's "God's Gift To Women". Therefore it wasn't very original. Nor was it difficult to figure out why Pilar was the way she was and who Leeda really was. I'm in no rush to read the next installment.

THE ULTIMATE NEW SCHOOL FATAL ATTRACTION!!!

What an awesome, riveting psycholgical sexual thriller!! I read the whole thing from cover to cover in several hours!! The crazed, demonic character Pilar was relentless in her quest to capture the love of Xavier, her lust-crazed "serial" one-night stand who thinks too much with the head below his belt and is just a glutton for punishment!! He gets his just due because he doesn't know how to really be faithful and committed to his erudite fiancee and ends up mentally unstable himself. This is my first time reading any of Electa Rome Parks' work but I definitely look forward to reading the sequel to this thriller scheduled for a 2/1/12 release. She is an outstanding writer with good character development and plot twists and turns that will keep readers on the edge of their seats!!!

    Talk about fatal attraction!

This book was great. The characters were well developed and the story line was interesting from start to finish. The main character Pilar was simply outrageous. At times, I actually felt sorry for her and angry at Xavier for his treatment of her. The ending left me wondering if there will be a sequel. I definitely hope so. This was a true page turner. I actually read it in 1 day.

Ok...first...let me say, that I absolutely, positively can't STA

Ok...first...let me say, that I absolutely, positively can't STAND Xavier! Electa did an awesome job of making me dislike him. He's the kind of man that would ignore a girl like me until he found out I could do something for him, then he'd try to charm his way into me doing whatever for him. But, for a moment, I actually felt sorry for him. No one deserves to have a Pilar in their lives. Poor misguided souls! I didn't know who to side with at one point. Part of me was cheering for her (with her umm...crazy self!) but then I realized that was probably the wrong reaction! This book was a page turner to say the least. I read it in only a few hours. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book. The last page leaves you with your mouth hanging open.

    Good Read

The main character seriously aggravated me! He was so annoying... following "other" things rather than what's right! "shaking my head" - read it, you'll see what I mean.

This book was totally awesome, the first I've ever read by Electa Rome Parks, and I must say that I am now hooked! But OMG, where oh where did Ms. Pilar come from? I'm quite sure she is "real" in somebody's world, every man needs to read this book before they run into a Pilar in their life! A definite page turner & in my top 10 on my list!
