Overview

The “real” Fifty Shades of Grey…A true life erotic story of female submission to rival The Story of O.

In Diary of a Submissive, Sophie Morgan candidly explains what exactly an independent, 21st century woman gets out of relinquishing her power and personal freedom in a submissive relationship with a dominant man for their mutual sexual pleasure.

In the wake of Fifty Shades of Grey, here is a memoir that offers the real story of what is means to be a submissive and follows Sophie’s story as she progresses from her early erotic experiences through to experimenting with her newfound awakened sexuality.  From the endorphin rush of her first spanking right through to being collared, she explains in frank and explicit fashion her sexual explorations.  But it isn’t until she meets James, a real life ‘Christian Grey,’ that her boundaries and sexual fetishism are really pushed. As her relationship with James travels into darker and darker places, the question becomes: Where will it end? Can Sophie reconcile her sexuality with the rest of her life, and is it possible for the perfect man to be perfectly cruel?

Daring, controversial, and sensual, Diary of a Submissive is filled with a captivating warmth and astounding honesty such that no one— man or woman—will be able to put Sophie's story down. Once you read the book you will understand why Sophie Morgan is a pseudonym.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"A work of top-notch erotica, this diary is also occasionally laugh-out-loud funny as the author weaves around the undeniable sweetness of love with the pain and humiliation she deeply craves during sex." —Publishers Weekly

Meet the Author

Sophie Morgan is in her early 30s. She is working hard at a career she loves as a journalist and is surrounded by friends and amused and exasperated by her family in about equal measure. Loves animals and Marmite, hates people who stop abruptly when walking down the street so you walk into them, and spends too much money on books, DVDs and handbags, mostly in that order. The one thing missing in her life is someone to share it— and she wants that someone to dominate her sexually, as well as help sort the recycling.

I really liked this book especially since it was actually based on a persons real life and not some fan-fic. I enjoyed the bdsm scenes except the one with a threesome as I am not into that. But overall, this book sucked me in and I felt as with each scene I could feel what Sophie was going through. I wish this book was much longer because I love details . Also wish Barnes & Noble would put the second book on their site for paperback and Nook. For anyone who wants to know its called No Ordinary Love Story by Sophie Morgan. I also recommend Brie Learns the Art of Submission by Red Phoenix. Amazing book of love and a close up on how a bdsm relationship is.

This was a very well told tale of finding out who you are and what you want in a relationship. I think a little pain can be fun but not to the extent that a true submissive takes it. Not my cup of tea but she seems happy.

LOVE this book. Happy I purchased it rather than getting it from a library! VERY well written and informative about the lifestyle!

Wow... I am little taken back about the lifestyle, but to each their own. Enjoyed the book and perhaps I gained some insight on the mindset of the dynamics in such a relationship.

I did enjoy this book quite a bit. Some of the characters struck me as a bit flat, and I usually prefer books that focus more on the erotic action, but this one definitely deserved five stars.

You don't have to be into this to enjoy the book; although if this is your lifestyle, then you can relate to much of this.  A true life account of various relationships.  I enjoyed the book.

I don't know why I bought this book.I really should have saved my money.I guess I just don't understand people who enjoy pain and humiliation. Maybe I was trying to figure it out.I didn't find the narrator's story at all compelling or interesting as she moved through a few relationships that all involved her being beaten. I wanted to take a shower after I finished reading this.
