Blake was 15 in 1805 when he began keeping a diary in which he detailed his life on his father's farm. Sloane, a collector of antiquities, found the book and added his own illustrations. The words and drawings open a window into a long-forgotten world. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

    Highly Recommended

I read this to my 7 year old son and we have both loved it. There is a great balance between actual journal entries and comentary explaining the journal entries and the time period. The illustrations are fabulous and really instill an appreciation for the hardworking and ingenuity of our ancestors.
