The Diary is a dramatic telling of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska's amazing encounter with The Divine Mercy our Lord Jesus Christ. On Mercy Sunday 2006, Pope Benedict XVI said, "The mystery of the merciful love of God was the center of the pontificate of my venerable predecessor [Pope John Paul II] ... evidencing that the devotion to Divine Mercy is not a secondary, but an integral dimension of a Christian's faith and prayer." The Diary chronicles God's invitation to turn to His mercy as a source of hope for the world. In it, we are reminded to trust in the Divine Mercy of Jesus and seek His forgiveness. And as Christ is merciful, so, too, are we instructed to be merciful to others. The message of Divine Mercy has become an integral part of Catholic faith, including the celebration of the Feast of Divine Mercy on the Sunday after Easter as Jesus had requested of St. Faustina. The Diary is truly a book that inspires people to turn with trust to Jesus and guides the reader through an intimate journey of prayer and devotion that ultimately leads to God's mercy. Meet the Author
Sr. Faustina was a young nun living in Cracow, Poland in the 1930's. Despite having only 3-years of formal education, she recorded extraordinary revelations from Our Lord, which she compiled in notebooks known today as the best-selling Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska.
In 1979, The Marians of the Immaculate Conception, lead by Fr. Seraphim Michalenko, were instrumental in bringing it in its rough typewritten form out of Poland. On April 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II canonized St. Faustina and called for the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday.

My mother actually asked me to purchase this book for her for her birthday. She lent it to me and I found myself wanting a copy of my own. I have since purchased several copies, upon request, as gifts. For me, the appeal of this book is that it is a first hand account of St. Faustina's close and personal relationship with our Lord. St. Faustina shares her inward struggles as she tries to live her life completely open to God's will. Her candid portrayal of both her successes and her set backs helps the reader to put their own attempts at living God's plan for them into perspective. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who would like to build a closer, more personal relationship with our Lord.
This diary was the most inspirational book that I have read in years. It led my soul. The simplicity of her writing made it easy to understand her inner thoughts. Highly recommend it.
The cover is great for protecting the pages but it is still small. I am overall extremely pleased with my purchase.
