Editorial Reviews

Booknews
For lay use. Contains some 6,000 definitions that attempt to present the subject in simple terms--pretty successfully. The "pocket" size (4.75x7") has some merit. We prefer the Merriam for its greater depth, and, especially, its guide to pronunciation. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)

Useful and compact for Medical Terminology class

The teacher of my Medical Terminology class recommended dictionaries by Tabor or Stedman. After looking at the prices for those, I went looking for something a little less expensive and found this one by Barron's. Although I'm sure it's not as comprehensive as Stedman (used in class), it has nearly always been in agreement, giving me a lot of confidence in using it to understand the medical terms. As a reference for class, it has turned out to be an economical and compact alternative to the higher end dictionaries that can be relied upon.

    Don't miss out on this

I had been looking for a medical dictionary that will explain in a simple but clearer way some of the medical terminologies I was not versed with and then I saw this book which does not only give me what I want but goes a long way to describe some diseases, symptoms, first-aid procedures, human anatomy etc. If you are looking for a medical dictionary that has all in one, this is it.The diagrams in it are clear and easy to understand.
