Harry Shaw's discussion of the impersonal effect that technology is having on communication and how we are all becoming so alike one another, except in the way each of us talks, points out the very reason why each of us should concentrate more on the way in which we speak in every day life. The suggestions that Shaw makes are to help relieve some of the confusion with grammar and correctness, but are not necessarily rules of the trade. Much of the way we speak is a matter of opinion when it comes to what is actually correct, but this book is very resourceful and I recommend it to anyone looking to improve the way they communicate. Shaw is very knowledgable of what he is teaching and his writing flows easily and conversationally, which should be expected, considering the subject of the book.
