Waldemar Bonsels (1880-1952) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Nach einer Ausbildung zum Missionskaufmann ging er nach Indien und gründete dort seinen eigenen Verlag. Diesen gab er 1912 jedoch wieder auf. Im selben Jahr erschien sein bekanntester Roman Die Biene Maja und Ihre Abenteuer.
