Meet the Author

Dr. Fred A. Stutman is one of the foremost authorities on the medical benefits of walking as the ideal aerobic exercise for health, fitness and weight control. As a medical officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Stutman established one of the nation's first walking programs for heart attack patients. He has done extensive research in the fields of exercise physiology, diet and nutrition. He has written a total of seven books and numerous medical articles on exercise, fitness, diet and nutrition. Following the publication of his groundbreaking books, The Doctor's Walking Book, Walk Don't Run and Walk Don't Die, Dr. Stutman became known as "The Father of the Walking Revolution" and "Dr. Walk." His last book, Walk to Win, was a Book Club Selection by Prevention Magazine.
