Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
Now here is a gardening book with attitude. Not to mention great advice, terrific color photographs, clear instructions, and child-friendly projects. A tenth-generation Southern gardener, Felder Rushing has worked with children, teachers, Master Gardeners, and horticulturists to develop the ideas in his second gardening book for children. Young gardeners will delight in this book and older friends and relatives looking for the perfect activity, from creating a daffodil maze to discovering "icky but interesting" worms or mold, will not be disappointed. An excellent section of advice and suggestions for parents and teachers—as well as an extensive, illustrated guide to plants that are easy to grow—make this book a top purchase for schools, libraries, and community volunteers. 2004, Cool Springs Press, Ages 6 to 10.
