    Very Real Book

I was required to read this book for a college class. However, I never finished past the first few chapters. Years later I was looking for a book to read from my already collection and found "Digging Out." What a joy to read this book! I found myself jumping into the novel and had trouble putting it down. This book felt very real to me and I identified with Alys and her darkness in life throughout the tragedies she lived through. I found myself cheering her on toward the end of the book. Great read! I passed it on to my momma and would recommend as a great pleasure read.

    Never forget your homeland!

Wow! What a powerful testimony of how 'home' is truly where our heart remains forever. Redemption is a powerful tool in this book. Through the main character's grief comes a realization of magnitute proportions. Sorrow sometimes leads to the greatest joy!

    Fantastic Read

I enjoyed this book so much, I gave all my friends copies for the Holidays. Yes, we all have our own drama - our own lives, but Ms. Leiner wove a touching intermingling of people's lives. So touched was I that when I finished reading, I missed the characters. Ms. Leiner - Please write another!

    Pretty good...

Life is a series of survival tests, Alys Davis learned early on as a child in Wales. A landslide when she was a child left her wheelchair bound for months, and she was the lucky one. Many other children were less fortunate, and lost their lives. Even when the pain left her limbs, she spent years enduring the glares of those who lost children when she lived. Then, she met Evan, and found love in his arms; but had to leave when she learned she was pregnant. ..................... The years passed, and once again she found love, this time in America with a composer. He raised her son as his own, and gave her a daughter. She only learned of his lies after his sudden death. It is only the first death she will have to cope with; her own father's illness takes her back to Wales, and Evan. Alys must face the past to find her future. ............... ** Ordinary life is filled with dramas that seem small unless you are in the middle of them. Alys' is one too familiar, albeit extraordinary, as are all crises. Ms Leiner's novel is so real that you probably have only to look in the mirror to know someone who has experienced the like. **
