Meet the Author

Patty Debowski founder of TheDigitalScrapbookTeacher.com, is an accomplished scrapbooker of more than 30 years. After seeing a beautiful digital layout in a magazine, Patty tried to find a digital scrapbooking book or class for Photoshop Elements, with no luck. Without any graphics arts training herself, trying to learn to digi-scrap was almost impossible and required endless hours of surfing the web and reading all of the traditional computer books that didn't deal with scrapbooking. Unable to find anywhere that she could learn digital scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements, she volunteered to teach a class at her local Adult Education school with a friend. Along the way, Patty discovered many frustrated scrappers who loved buying the beautiful magazines with the great digital scrapbooking pages, but who wanted a book that would explain exactly how to get the same results.

I highly recommend this book! I purchased it a couple of years ago and I have not regreted it for a moment. Patty has a great sense of humor, which makes reading the book a joy. She is clear and precise in the directions she provides. I had purchased about a dozen books on Photoshop Elements prior to buying this book. I found them lacking in the content a creative crafter would need. I just finshed taking seminars from Patty the past 2 days. She is an excellent and patient instructor as well as a great author. I currently use PE6 and did not have trouble with understanding the book. I understand that updates are available on the website, so no need to be concerned about what version you own. I just can't recommend this book enough. If you only have the money to buy 1 book on Digital Scrapbooking - get this one!

This is the most helpful book that I have found for using photoshop! (Patty Debowski covers info for different versions of photoshop in the book. You can download updates on her website for newer versions.) Especially since it is geared toward using photoshop for scrapbooking and card-making, which is exactly what I was looking for. She has done a great job not only explaining what to do, but also things to look out for and what to do if you run into problems. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn to use photoshop!!!

This book is like my bible of digital scrapbooking. I keep it handy and it helped teach me how to use PSE when it comes to creating great digital scrapbook pages.

i can't recommend this enough as a resource for using photoshop elements. it is written in simple terms by a non-techie with clear directions and is full of screen grabs.

For those who are going digital, in part or whole ,when it comes to scrap booking this book is invaluable. It is the first book I have found that provides simple instructions for fantastic pages and you don't have to be a computer wizard! I absolutely loved this book and would highly recommend it.

If you need BASIC information on organizing and backing up your photos and scrapbooking supplies, how to edit photos, use templates, find images, etc, this is the book for you. However, if you are not a novice at Photoshop or you have no desire to deal with photos and you already know that Google Images is a better place to look for scrapbooking images than any other program available and more importantly, if you are looking for information on how to make digi or real cards, then do not order this book. I see a LOT of info about digital scrapbooking and basic Photoshop directions, but the title of the books says "...Scrapbooking and Card-Making...". Where is the card-making part? It would be cool to make my own digital greeting cards, which is the reason I ordered this book. Another case of buyers remorse for me. I gave it 2 stars because I feel the title is misleading. Photoshop is an expensive piece of software, why anyone would buy it without some basic knowledge or skill is beyond me when there are free photo editing software available. The 2 starts is for the basic info the author gives, but that is all.
