Overview

Presenting advances in infrared photography, which has long been an artful alternative to traditional color or black-and-white photography, this guide provides tips for creating vivid infrared prints. Previsualizing the effects of infrared light on a subject, successfully using Adobe Photoshop to heighten the effects of infrared images, and creative toning and framing strategies are discussed. The savings from shooting digitally and using imaging programs during development are also detailed. Before-and-after photographs paired with instructive text provide a visual approach to this ethereal photography form.

Digital Infrared Photography: Professional Techniques and Images

This is by far the very best book ever on infrared photography. The author covers both IR film and digital IR in this comprehensive book. The historical information was very complete. The information on converting a digital camera was also very thorough. The pictures in this book are just amazing! This is some of the most beautiful photography that I have seen and certainly the best collection of infrared photography ever! This is a great book that I highly recommend.

Digital Infrared Photography: Professional Techniques and Images

In writing this text, I wanted to provide the most complete guide for creating infrared images with a digital camera. The book is richly illustrated by photographers from across the country as well as my own. Camera modification is described at length and sources for this service are listed in the book. I hope that everyone who reads this book enjoys it as much as I did writing it.
