Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Henry Zhang
This book begins with two children lying on the floor of a library reading about dinosaurs. Throughout the duration of the book, many fun and interesting questions are answered about various dinosaurs. The book varies with the narrator asking simplistic questions like "Did dinosaurs swim?" and "Which dinosaur was the biggest/littlest?" while also addressing complex evolutionary biology questions such as "Are birds dinosaur cousins?" Twenty-two questions about the mysterious beasts are asked and answered in a pleasantly lighthearted and informal manner by using a Q&A format while also enticing the reader with lively, colorful art. This book can best be utilized as a read-aloud to a young class, as the large playful pictures and easily readable words are visually ideal for this setting. Reviewer: Henry Zhang
Children's Literature - Meredith E. Kiger
Yet another Dinosaur book! Using cartoon-like drawings, the author/illustrator presents over 20 questions you may have had about dinosaurs and answers them with factual but interesting, often humorous, replies. Kids will enjoy this quirky approach to learning more about dinosaurs.
School Library Journal
K-Gr 3-Most addresses the appearance and behavior of dinosaurs in a lighthearted question-and-answer format. Recent discoveries and theories are touched on, such as skin coloration and the positioning and purpose of Stegosauras plates. Some responses are simple and direct, while others explain that much information remains unknown. The presentation is visually appealing, with each question located above a large full-color illustration and brief text below. Some of the playful pictures clearly support the text, while others are fanciful, e.g., one of an Apatosaurus in a diaper being carried across the sky. The lively, colorful art is eye-catching, and fans of the author's earlier books will appreciate his familiar, humorous treatment of a scientific topic. Those seeking a more serious approach might prefer Seymour Simon's New Questions and Answers about Dinosaurs (Morrow, 1990) or Gail Gibbons's Dinosaurs (Holiday, 1987).Diane Nunn, Richard E.
