Meet the Author

Thomas P. Hopp was born in Seattle, Washington, where he lived his earliest years in a housing project on the banks of the Duwamish River. Good grades at West Seattle High School and the University of Washington as well as a perfect score on the Graduate Record Examination got him into the Biochemistry Ph.D. program at Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Hopp studied genetic engineering at Rockefeller University and then helped found the multi-billion-dollar biotechnology company, Immunex Corporation. He discovered and patented genes for the immune stimulating hormone interleukin one. He also created genetically altered animals with human genes as well as the first commercially successful nanotechnology device, a molecular handle called the Flag epitope. He worked in the field with paleontologist Jack Horner, excavating bones of the nest-building duckbilled dinosaur Maiasaura. He published scientific articles on his brooding-to-flight hypothesis, in which wing feathers of birds developed first for nesting and then for flying. He plays guitar and bass, and has performed onstage with blues legend John Lee Hooker and rock super-groups The Kingsmen and The Drifters. He has lived in San Diego and on Manhattan Island, but now lives near Seattle.

When you reach the end, it's apparent there's a sequel. BUT here's the rub. It's not available in Nookbooks, and BN wants $21.73 for the paperback. For this reason, I find it hard to recommend it. It's well enough written, fairly interesting, but incomplete, and a bit simplistic towards the end ... actually most of the way through. Be forewarned.

This is a great book...Now looking for other books by the author..Will get Counterattack when it goes to nook..Could hardly put it down, and it's long..and free..

The story starts with a cast of many, thins them out, and makes you care about or despise those that remain. This story is good enough to make me want more.

Great read and very entertaining. Do not listen to the reviewer that you have to pay for the second book. A little research would have went a long way here - this book is the first and second book combined. This is edition 3. Grab this book now and read it!!

I loved this book.I must admit that tjebasic idea is a little off, but it once you get past that the book is very engrossing. I must admit that it brings up some interesting points. I would definately recommend this book!

Pretty good scify premise. Very comfortable read & storyline.

The cover does this book justice, a t-rex, tanks, & a galloping cowgirl. It made me ask the question, how? The author does a creative & entertaining job of bringing the three eras together with some good twists with only a few predictable moments.

Loved Dinosaurs in my youth, and this brought that childish interest back, near my Senior years... A great story.. Highly Recommended !!

I enjoyed a lot of this book especially the intelligence of the Kra (certain breed of dino). Gar the main dino was by far my favorite character, but a lot of dialog was immature and then at times overly complicated where they needed to explain in detail their points. At the beginning there was a lot of characters introduced which are weeded out as the story goes on. Once or twice a character or two was mentioned once and never talked about again which i also did not understand. In all a great read just wish there was less characters.

Could not have gone better. I felt that dinos and science fiction like this was a concept long overdue. Really good. Loved it.

It started off quick, great developement and kept me interested the whole way through. I cannot wait for the sequel

If most of the armed services personnel survived as did the government, where were they? So do the dumb dinos not eat the smart ones or does everyone eat everybody? Glad the author didn't force any sex. Not that i don't like sex, but not with my dinosaurs.

This was a good read, however, the author used the words 'gonna' and 'gotta' nonstop. It became irritating. The older, high ranking characters use of language was immature to the point of breaking suspension of disbelief.

I hope Mr. Hopp has more installments to his story! There are graphic scenes of gore but they are rare and not merely gratuitous and also happy to say, no sex. This book will appeal to so many! Scifi buffs, military, dinosaur, naturalists and those who enjoy quiet drama and dry humor with characters you can genuinely relate to. I REALLY liked this book and look forward to more. Mr. Hopp left so many unanswered questions that there simply has to be more!! - acwinoh

It's not that the writing isn't good, I did finish it, but this story was all over the place and became ridiculously absurd the longer it went. I like the idea of it, but didn't like the execution of it. A true freebee in every sense.

The book summary is accurate. Well written storyline although the concept seems to odd. enjoyable read. The start captured my attention.

I enjoyed very much reading this book. The book has a lot of action and also describes the good and bad interactions between humans and aliens.
