The author and illustrator of Aliens Love Underpants (2007) go to the well again, describing in stumbling verse and colorful but unexceptional art how the dinos wiped themselves out squabbling over their prehistoric panties. Seeing cavemen modeling newly invented fur boxer shorts, the envious dinosaurs steal the concept, but they discover certain design flaws: "The pants from Woolly Mammoth coats / Made Stegosaurus itchy. / Diplodocus was really mad. / His briefs were way too pinchy!" Irritation quickly escalates into fury, and the ensuing autogenocide both leaves the cavemen (there are no women in evidence) relieved and leads to a closing "Don't forget briefs saved Mankind. / They're not just underwear!" Children may find Cort's cartoon pictures of big, grumpy-looking dinosaurs sporting undies loud with polka-dots and other patterns briefly (so to speak) amusing. (Picture book. 6-8)

Claire Freedman is the author of several picture books, including Aliens Love Underpants; Snuggle Up, Sleepy Ones; One Magical Day; A Magical Christmas; and Dilly Duckling. She lives in Essex, England.

    Not currently supported on the Nook Color despite saying it is

    This book does not currently work on the Nook Color due to content problems that the author/publisher needs to fix. It has been reported to them by Customer Servie, but will not play until the issue is resolved by them.

    Comical insight

    My little one absolutely loves this book and insist that I read it over and over again. It has become her favorite bedtime book. Very glad I purchased it.

    Highly Recommend - My Son Loves This Book!

    My 5 year old loves this book so much he shared it with his class. His kindergarten class has a "share your favorite book month" and his book has become a favorite laugh out loud book with all of his friends.

    Will Not Work on Nook Tablet!

    This Nook Read to Me book does not work on Nook Tablets despite the claim. Nook customer service has been notified and needs to correct their web site advertisement.

    The Worst book!!

    I read to all my grandchildren. It's always a special time for us. but this book is the worst book I ever read and the kids agree..I cannot believe I paid that much money for it. There was no thought put into this book at all in regard to what the kids would get out of it. I will never buy from this author again.

    I couldn't tell you if this book was good or not, as it would no

    I couldn't tell you if this book was good or not, as it would not load onto my nook tablet. had to contact customer service multiple times to get it to even load onto my nook, and then when it did finally load, it wouldn't open, and instead just showed an error message. seriously!! customer service says that it's an issue with my tablet only, but as i have read multiple reviews saying it will not load on the nook tablet or nook color, i find that hard to believe. I am especially irritated because customer service originally refused to refund my money for the book. there is no way i am paying for something i can't access. i have loved my nook other than this issue-- hope i don't have many more, as i am less than impressed with how issues are handled.

    Read to me does not work

    It is a really cute story, however the read to me option is not working on my IPad. Other books work fine. I have contacted Barnes and Noble and have been waiting more than a week for a reply.

    my 2 year old has the attention span of.. well, a 2 year old an

    my 2 year old has the attention span of.. well, a 2 year old and he LOVES this book! we read it all the way through and in fact a second time in a row! and he even wanted me to read it again!

    Will not work on Nook Tablet - issue with publisher

    I bought this book on sale thinking my kids would love it. However, when I tried to read it, it said content not supported. I contacted B&N support and they said it was an issue with the publisher and they were working on it. However, I've not seen anything updated to make note of the known problem on the website to warn users of potential problem before purchasing. Buy at your own risk!!!

    Loading problems resolved

    Had to contact support to get to load. They were great, but had to reset my Nook color to do it. Cute book. My 2 yr. old enjoys it.

    was unable to download on my nook reader

    I was not able to get this on my nook reader as I didn't have a color nook.
    But I was able to receive my refund with no problem. I wish they would of
    told me it wasn't available.
