This child book was good enough to satisfy a teenager and a young child. As a father of two that is all I could ask for. Thank You Veronica Ross

My 9 year old loves this book!

Dinosaurs was a great buy for a hardback book. My son had been looked at this book at school and wanted his own copy.

    Gory pictures

This book has many unnecessary gory pictures of dinosaurs eating other dinosaurs. Check it out carefully before purchasing for your child.

    A great Dinosaur book!

I bought this for my toddler who is into dinosaurs. He loves this book. It has a lot of pages and keeps him very interested. It starts during the time before the dinosaurs and goes through each time period of the dinosaurs and ends with a section about the animals that existed after the dinosaurs. Each page is a different animal/dinosaur. It goes through the time periods, but each section is alphabetical. Each page gives the stats on the animal/dinosaur such as weight, length, what they ate, what their name means, when and where the fossils have been found; how big they were compared to a human , along with interesting facts about the animal or dinosaur. The only down side for my toddler is that the picture/drawings are fairly graphic and a bit scary and often depict dinosuars eating eachother or fighting. This does not seem to bother my son, but I think the pictures are more geared or appropriate for school aged children. I am enjoying learning so much about the dinosaurs. As for what another reviewer stated about it not being factually correct, I cannot attest to that; I am not a palentologist.

    Awful!

When purchasing this book, I should have looked more closely at it. It was full of lies and so much fiction presented as fact, I couldn't handle it. I bought it for my son who loves dinosaurs, and I couldn't even read it to him it was so full of garbage. We threw it away and bought another one it was so bad. Some of the pictures were rather disturbing as well. I do not recommend this book to anyone.

My 6-year old loves this book

My 6-year old daughter just loves to read this book. The pictures of the dinosaurs are very good and colorful, and the descriptions are done very well also (they are descriptive but not to over the top). This is good book for the child interested in dinosaurs other than what they have seen in the Jurassic Park movies.

    Rawwwwwr! A Great Read!

My son loves this book so much we have two copies at our house! Written in small samplings of text and great illustrations attention is kept from page to page.
The maps of where the dinos lived is a great conversation and teaching piece we use every time we read this together!

    A reviewer

Looking at this book at the bookstore seemed great and my 4yo wanted it so I got it. But then that night I was reading it to him and discovered an awful reality. On the left is a full picture of the dino and that's nice. And on the right page was the write up. However, included is HOW the dino killed or defended itself and these are the most graphic and horrible intestine spilling illustrations I have ever seen. Sure it wasn't a nice world back then, but did they have to make it so graphic for a children's book? I didn't take the book away from my son, but I had extra explaining to do in regards to animal savagery.
