Released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the movie, the soundtrack is presented with the same sequencing as the original from 1987. The hook with this edition, however, comes from the packaging, which features liner notes written by the soundtrack's producers, offering insight into the selection of classic songs like "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" and "She's Like the Wind." Musically, this deluxe edition doesn't offer anything that the myriad reissues of Dirty Dancing's soundtrack don't already have, but for die-hard fans of the film and its music, the new perspectives on the film and its music, as well as the nicer packaging and included film stills, might make this a worthy replacement for the copies of the original that they wore out long ago.
