Overview

From New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Tyler, writing as SE Jakes....

Cillian works for the mysterious Special Branch 20: an organization that runs black ops commissioned by the British government. His specialty is deep undercover assignments with virtually no support. He’s been alone for so long that he no longer knows anything else.

Mal’s also used to being alone. Wanted in several states and even more countries, he’s not allowed in the vicinity of any of his former Navy SEAL teammates. And his current assignment is to track Cillian in order to discover the spook’s endgame. Except he’s no longer sure which one of them is getting played.

Cillian isn’t about to let the mission that’s consumed him for the past several years crumble because an outsider is poking around where he doesn’t belong. But Mal forces his way through Cillian’s defenses—and into his heart—exposing a devastating betrayal that could destroy them both.

5 out of 5 for this reader folks!

I was quite impressed with this short read. I do not tend to read many same sex books, but I am happy to have come across this one. This was well written and super hot! :)

Dirty Deeds is the first story in the series Dirty Deeds by S.E. Jakes. We have two leading men who are both special ops that work alone, happen to be very good at their jobs, and now have come across each others trails. It would appear however, passion and intrigue take a front seat to their current operation.

Cillian is a straight up bad ass who works alone and will do what needs to be done to complete a mission. He is cold and callous, and has been working on a deep uncover mission for a couple of years now. While at a local gay bar, he encounters a mystery man who easily tops him in a mystery room intended for pleasure. Cill rarely let's anyone top him, but there is something about this man that turns Cill's crank like no other.

Mal is a former Navy SEAL, another bad ass and has taken an assignment to figure out what it is that Cill is after and will go as far as seducing the operative to get whatever information he can. EXCEPT, he didn't imagine feeling the serious connect when he topped Cill.

Both men can't help but remember the other and return to the place where all the passion ignited, hoping to repeat the memory. If they happen to get extra information in the process, well that's great! But when the truth begins to leak out, these two are placed on opposite ends and begin to feel the deception. Will they have to go to extremes to either reveal their true identity, take each other out, or make a go of this passion they share??

This is a short read, and we are left with a cliffhanger. The sex was hot, gritty and raw, and the characters hardcore. It is something when alpha op and alpha op try and take each other on ... my e-reader could of gone up in flames! LOL I cannot wait to read more, and see where S.E. Jakes is going to take us. I am rooting for these two hotties but have to admit that I hope it's a bumpy ride to a HEA! LOL

    HAPPY READING! :)

    Great book

Great book but I only gave it 3 stars because it is 73 pages. Don't bother reading until the rest of the series is released. It is basically like reading only 5 chapters of a 15 chapter book. Very frustrating

Dirty Deeds is a sinfully decadent read.  This novella was hot & suspenseful while at the same time remaining fun & enjoyable.  Jakes has a well written, approachable style that makes it easy for her readers to lose themselves in the pages of the story.  She brings forward aspects of life that one rarely thinks of and wraps them up in an intensely gratifying suspense that will keep you on your toes.  Jakes balances heat & power with vulnerability to create the perfect thrill.

I love how you get to know the main characters in the present with just hints at their path.  They are both well developed with an air of mystery to them.  I felt a connection with the main character right from the beginning of the story. His intensity increases the intensity of the story as a whole.  Also, the fact that she places two alpha males together ramps up the storyline.  They must balance who they are with each other alongside who they are by themselves.

It was a quick read that I couldn’t put down.  One small word of warning, however.  Jakes leaves us with a definite cliff-hanger (and one large book hangover) at the end of this one.  So, as much as I’d qualify this as a must read, if you’re not a fan of cliff-hangers, I’d suggest waiting for the rest of the series to be released.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Just when I think I have the story all figured out, Jakes throws

Just when I think I have the story all figured out, Jakes throws me off again – wow!

Dirty Deeds is just that, a dirty, tough, quickie that taunts us with secrets and lies and cover ups. And I'm dying for the next installment!

Mal and Cillian are hot together, whether it's IM sexting or in the backroom of a club. We only get a glimpse at how the relationship could work out, but it's enough to drive me crazy. And the ending only threw another road block in the way towards their HEA.

Dirty Deeds ends on a cliffhanger, and if you haven't read the other series  (Hell and High Waters) connect to this one, you will be a bit lost. Hell, even having read all the books currently out I admit to being slightly confused at times, but I trust that by the end of the series, Jakes will have it all out in the open. There are many, many layers involved, in both Cill and Mal's story and Prophet and Tommy's (H + H W), and Jakes is a mastermind at it!

If you need a quick-paced novella packed with rough, sexy times and a budding chemistry that is sure to explode, this is it! Just be sure you read Jakes' other books. But don't worry, once you pick up on, you'll be dying to pick up the rest!

    4 STARS!

Confession; at the beginning of December I had not read a book by SE Jakes, and now, I have read everything and am asking myself why I waited so long.

Ok so you know Mal from the Hell or High Water series, and if you haven't read that series you need to stop and go do that now! He can't speak due to an injury but that doesn't stop him from getting his point across. The man is crazy sexy and cool as hell. Seriously not sure who has the shadier back ground....Mal or Cillian.

Cillian is also a character that you meet in the HoHW series so again....go read it! I thought the IM messages between Cillian and Prophet were hot but they are totally PG compared to the messages between Cillian and Mal.

It's through the IM encounters that the two men start to open up a bit, or as much as two men in deep undercover who have been burned before and have total trust issues can open up. The conversations start out light but quickly become real and that is something neither man expects.

There is so much action, it is non-stop and a great beginning to this spin-off series. It will leave you sitting in a corner rocking back and forth murmuring "I need more".  Jakes weaves espionage, betrayal  and sex seamlessly and the way this one ended, all I could do was gasp! I have become an addict and I am NOT looking for a 12 step program.

If you are a fan of Abi Roux's Cut & Run series or Mary Calmes A Matter of Time series then you need to add Jakes to your auto-buy list!

Dirty Deeds (Dirty Deeds, #1). SE Jakes Review from Jeannie Zelo

Dirty Deeds (Dirty Deeds, #1). SE Jakes
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
I came into this series late, a couple of books back and to be honest the whole spy/black ops trope has me a bit confused and yet...these bunch of characters keep pulling at me. Tough guys on the surface and yet underneath they have fears and desires, needs and hopes, even though they don't seem to admit it to themselves. So I have to keep seeing what's going on, whose met up with who, and how things are going to work out. Guessing is no good – I’m getting it wrong every time :)
Up to now Cillain has been to me a bit of a mystery man, I keep finding out bits about him via others, texts, pc etc but the whole man...well here he is in this book and getting a glimpse into how his mind works is fascinating. Throw in mysterious Mal and – well – its dynamite when they both try to work their way round the other, trying to see what the other knows, what the other is planning and who's really pulling the strings. Its a book where everyone seems to be watching someone, the wrong move means death, quick sudden death, and no-one is as he seems. Well that's how it seems to me, spook fans may find working out the puzzles easier of course. Still, that doesn't stop me enjoying the story and wanting to know more...Still, I wish the book was longer, I wish it didn't end on a cliffhanger – I really, really hate that. I don't like these “chapter” type instalment books, I want everything in one fell swoop. That would be a five star read.
Stars: four stars, fun book, spies and spice all in one..
