Overview

The grunge movement of the early '90s certainly spawned its fair share of imitators, as evidenced by the likes of Bush, Candlebox, Days of the New, and Sugartooth. The majority of these bands only managed to last for a handful of albums however, but Seven Mary Three have stuck around the longest -- having released albums on a somewhat regular basis since their 1995 debut, American Standard. 2004 saw the release of their fifth album overall, Dis/Location, and while it seemed like the rest of the world was focusing on emo and new wave revival bands, Seven Mary Three was still emulating the sounds of their heroes from a bygone Seattle era. Singer Jason Ross' voice still recalls Eddie Vedder, and the music has MTV Buzz Bin written all over it -- if it was 1992. Still, fans of the group's earlier works will be pleased to learn that the group continues to stick to preferred sound (something not a lot of the aforementioned bands did). The song remains largely the same on such tracks as "Settle Up" and "Oceans of Envy," where big grungey riffs do battle with Ross" heart on his sleeve lyrics. Seven Mary Three's sound and approach on Dis/Location would sound right at home between such early 21st century grunge revivalists as Puddle of Mudd and Staind.

Seven Mary Three write great rock songs with a nice melodic hook. These songs will stick in your head and give your feelings words.

Did you love American Standard and Rock Crown but not like Orange Ave. or Economy of Sound as much? 7M3 gets back to good ol' rock-n-roll on this album. Every song rocks!

Have listened to this cd non-stop for two days. Love it! Settle Up, Blue Letter, Dislocation, Bark No Bite are awesome.

Having bought the other Seven Mary Three albums I of course had to pick this one up as soon as it came out. This album seems like it really goes back to the heavier sound the band was first known for when they came on the scene. Tracks like "Settle Up" and "Bark no Bite" remind me of the heavier material off the first album while at the same time showing how the band has matured and changed over the years. Musically and lyrically they have changed from their early work. Tracks like "Blue Letter" and "Where Are You Calling From?" slow things down a bit but still have crunch to them while making you sit back and think after listening to them.

These guys have done it again. Dis/location has them back to the "Orange Ave" quality of rock. Why they don't get the recognition is beyond me. From start to finish this cd has the edge that makes them unique in music today. Anyone who has heard "Cumbersome" years ago needs to go out & buy this one. See them on tour & you'll even be more impressed.

The guys have come a long way since their beginning, and you can see this through the way the CD is presented. Make sure to add this to your list of CDs to get. Its well worth it!

Dis/Location by Seven Mary Three is one of the best rock records to come out this year. The CD is filled with passionate vocals and high energy guitars. This is 7M3's fifth studio effort and their finest to date. It seems like they keep getting better and better as time rolls along. Be sure to check out "Blue Letter and "Bark No Bite".

This is a very solid album. Seven of the eleven songs are very good. The other four are decent but I find that I listen to seven of the songs repeatedly. Blue Letter is fantastic and should get a lot of airplay.

A cosmic combination of guitars and vocals. This fearsome attack of guiatars and vocals is a refreshing breath of air for people looking for classic, strong melody songs. One of the best I've heard in years.

Holy cow! This has to be the best new rock album that has or will come out this year. Seven Mary Three has taken its excellent song writing skills and musicianship and elevated it to a new level out of this stratosphere. With not even so much as a bad song in the bunch, this one is a none stop rocker from start to finish. A roller coaster ride of colors and emotions, this album is story telling at its best. With a one, two, three punch of "Settle Up", "Without You Feels", and "Oceans Of Envey", Scott Ross and the boys let you know that they are in town and the House is a rockin'! They continue to blaze throughout the set and let you know they mean business. This is definately a no non-sense rocker that will see the passing of many a fade and stand the test of time. Get it now and see 7M3 on the road soon to experience it live. www.7m3.com

Seven Mary Three's DisLocation is one of the best albums released this year. Not a weak cut among the bunch and Jason Ross is nothing short of brilliant in this new group of songs. The band sounds tight and enthused about the new material. Buy this CD, you won't be sorry! See them live, you will be blown away.

On this album, 7M3 returns to what they are famous for... hard rock and meaningful vocals. From the opener, "Settle Up", you realize what has been missing from the radio for the past few years. The new album is somewhat short, being only 38 minutes, but there is never a dull moment. The transition from song to song is flawless and can easily be listened to three or four times in a row (as I recently tested on a road trip). This is the epitome of summer music, so put it in the CD player and drive. You will not be disappointed.

Every new album amazes me even more. I didn't think they could top Rock Crown, and then along came Orange Avenue. Then Economy through me for a loop with some of the best songwriting I had heard in a while. With the lastest effort, Dis/Location, Seven Mary Three has once again surpassed my expectations. Blue Letter and Settle Up are amazing and Found My Center displays Jason Ross's amazing vocal ability. After seeing the band 7 times, I can't wait to see them next week in Flint, should be an awesome show by and awesome band.

If you don't own this album already, go get it, please. NOthing is better than brand new 7M3, with each new album, the songs just get better and better. Not one song sounds like another, but at the same time, each song is a fusion of styles from previous albums and of course new techniques. It's the best album so far produced by 7M3. GO ORDER IT NOW!!!!!

This album is sure to not disappoint! The guys of 7M3 ensured with their powerful lyrics and awesome musical arrangements that any buyer of this CD would not go home regretting shelling out their 14 bucks. Every song on the disc is four times better than anything that has been clogging the radio airwaves this year. Buy it and Believe!
