Meet the Author

Thomasina D. Piercy, Ph.D., earned her degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on reading from the University of Maryland. As a principal and a teacher, she taught graduate writing and reading courses to educators from various states in the east coast region. Dr. Piercy's research received the Reading Research Award from the State of Maryland International Reading Counci. She was honored with the Bailer Award from McDaniel College for her distinguished acareer in education, and was recipient of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Children's Hero Award. As a teacher she was named one of five expert teachers by the Maryland State Department of Education.

William Piercy, Ph.D., earned his degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on human resource development from the University of Maryland. He has taught leadership at the graduate level, and provided principal leadership consultation at district and state levels. Currently he is responsible for professional development, including leadership development, as a supervisor in a district outside Baltimore, Maryland.
