Meet the Author

Joseph J. (Joe) Brown retired as Director of Organizational Development with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare after 27 years of service. His working career also included management positions with Merck, Xerox, PPG Industries, and Dun & Bradstreet. His years in business organizations included assignments in various functional areas including Customer Service, Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Credit Management, Finance, and Logistics.

During his working career, Mr. Brown was an active participant in a number of Professional Organizations including: The American Society for Training and Development, The Society of Human Resource Management, The National Association of Logistics Management, The National Association of Credit Management, The Grocery Manufacturers of America, and The National Association of Cooperative Advertising.

His Educational Background includes a B.B.A from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.S. in Organizational Development and post graduate work in training and development from La Roche College.

He has been a frequent guest lecturer in Strategic Human Resource Management at the Duquesne University Graduate School of Business and served on the Duquesne University Business School Advisory Board for a number of years.

Currently, he operates JJB Associates, a business consulting service, specializing in helping individuals and organizations be more resilient and attain a better work-life balance by learning to "Push Back To Work Smarter, Not Harder."

He currently resides with his wife just outside Pittsburgh, Pa. in the community of Southpointe.
