Meet the Author

You’d never guess that Dave was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, eh. He’s traveled a fair bit, but then a North Carolina gal caught his eye. Really he just wanted to get away from snow, but then a rescue Plott Hound wound him around her paw and that was it. He gardens, is handy around the house and yard, and cooks better than he cleans. An avid reader his whole life, he thought someday he’d try it himself. After his wife told him to stop talking about it and do it, he finally gave it a go. We hope you enjoy his efforts!

I enjoyed this a lot! It's not a heavy read, but still plenty of meat. Interesting underlying concept of latent ability in all that just needs a trigger. I appreciate that it had some elements of magic, but didn't resort to the typical mythical creatures or unsupported "faith-based" events. This is about adults who stumble into oddness, and address it with a somewhat scientific mindset. Looking forward to hitting the next book in series!

It was a pretty cool book. I liked the way psionics were introduced as a potential real world ability and researched by the scientist characters. Having it in an urban fantasy setting with some humor and action was a bonus.
