Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
There is a lot of good scientific and practical information about a dozen different trees inside this slim book. The descriptions include the common name, scientific name (which is the same anywhere in the world), basic facts about tree height, leaf type, fruit, bark, and how Native Americans used the tree and its products. If you have ever wondered why leaves change color, Ingoglia gives a lucid explanation and provides a list of the colors you will frequently see. Also included is a section on tree dwellers and the importance of trees to all life. The easy to read text is liberally illustrated with pencil sketches.
