Very Usefule for practitioners in the debt market

The book provides a review on several recent issues in the distressed debt market, and restructurings. It is a good coverage in analytical tools used for the valuations, in a comprehensive way to cover different analysts needs, who are engaged in corporate restructurings.
Amr Moustafa - Head of Special Lending Unit - Corporate Banking Group IV - Commercial International Bank (Egypt)

Distressed Debt Analysis Does Not Disappoint.

Steve Moyer has done a remarkable job of explaining the process of distressed debt analysis. For those interested in buying or selling distressed debt, I recommend this book.

Best book on distressed debt analysis available

Distressed Debt Analysis is the most practical book on investing I have ever read. The author is an ex-Drexel analyst who has participated in the last two credit cycles and writes from experience; at 350+ text pages and 450+ footnotes the book is rigorous and well researched. Moyer does a great job of explaining how to think about this rather complicated subject within the context of real world and hypothetical examples. The chapter on hedging techniques is the only written explanation of these strategies I have seen, so just that was worth the price of the book. His insights are not only helpful, but fundamental to any serious study of distressed debt.

Most practial book on distressed debt

I have read many books on distressed debt and restructurings (Altman, Gaughan, DiNapoli, etc.) and this is by far the most useful textbook. Moyer presents the material in a logical timeline, starting with a review of what 'distressed debt' is to legal implications, valuation, and capital structures, etc. The book's depth on numerous issues ensures that I will keep this as a reference book, especially the detail on bank debt, for which I have found limited information on prior to this book.
