Overview

Ditch. Dare. Do! is the definitive (and irreverent) career and corporate success guide for defining, aligning, and living the power of brand!

Personal branding is increasingly recognized as a must-have skill in every executive and employer tool kit, providing—to both employees and employers—the sense of stability, empowerment, value-creation, and recognition so critical to success in an increasingly volatile marketplace. Yet, until now, there has been no definitive guide to personal branding from these combined perspectives. Ditch. Dare. Do!, by Personal Branding Guru William Arruda and CEO Coach Deb Dib, is the quick-start guide and deep-dive instruction manual every executive and employer needs to leverage the power of personal branding. This groundbreaking book is designed for professionals who seek to build satisfying careers (by aligning who they are with what they do and how they do it), and for companies that are serious about retaining and growing the best talent.

Ditch. Dare. Do! challenges long-held assumptions and habits, daring the reader with a 'ditch' (a mindset that must be shattered), a 'dare' (a challenge to up their game), or a 'do' (a critical action that must be taken to ensure success). Acknowledging the impact of Web 2.0, texting, Twitter, and the perennial distractions of multi-tasking, Ditch. Dare. Do! is deliberately bold and brief—a series of powerful stand-alone two-page vignettes of relevant, actionable, fun and fast tips covering all aspects of personal 'career branding.'

Readers who follow this GPS for executive success will advance their careers, support the corporate brand, deliver greater value to their companies, and become influential, indispensable, and incredibly happy.

Ditch Dare Do is the latest book from William Arruda and Deb Dib

Ditch Dare Do is the latest book from William Arruda and Deb Dib. I love the short chapters filled with workplace wisdom that can help you more fully live your personal brand. The formula is broken into parts of Know, Show, Grow, and Go with each section offering something to the reader. I enjoyed not only reading the book but learned from the wisdom offered. This book made me think about personal branding in some new ways that I will begin to put into action. This will be a book that I will certainly suggest to my clients, colleagues, and friends.

Daring Do and the Sleepy Town

Daring Do tapped a nail into the ground using her shaggy tail. Tonight she was setting up camp in the Macintosh Hills. It was a change from the jungles she was used to, but Daring was always up for a adventure.
After Daring Do set her lamp down, she rumaged through her small bag and pulled out a framed photo. The one thing that she had always kept with her, aside from her trusty hat.
In the photo was two pegasi, two unicorns, amd two earth ponies. Daring was one of the pegasi, she smiled from the upper-right side of the photo. Beside her was a unicorn with a straight brown mane and teal eyes. At the bottom was Lamplight, a blue-grey pegaus with kindly yellow eyes. Th other four mares all had dull colors as well.
Daring blinked away a unexpected tear. She turned and placed the photo back in her bag. Unrolling her map, she observed he routes carefully.
"It seems," She murmere to herself, "that the south-east has hardly been explored. Perfect! I'll leave in the morning!" Grinning, she took a swig of water from her canteen. After examining the map for a few minutes more, Daring Do doused the fire and crawled into her tent.
That night, she dreamed of Lamplight, Midnight Flare, Kiwistreak, Blondie Biscut, and Siesta. They called out for help, as light dimmed and Daring was left in the dark. The pegasus shovered in discomfort as she slept.
By morning, Daring woke and quickly packed up. Stretching her wings, her eyes widened.
"Thank goodness; I nearly forgot my wing stretches!" Daring rarely mentioned that her frequent crashes in the jungled had permanetly damaged her wings. A good exercise was needed to get them back into shape.
Daring massaged her wings and then took flight. It seemed like she went miles in a minute. Daring grinned and enjoyed the rush of the breeze in her face.
Minutes ticked by. Suddenly, a sharp pain pricked Daring's left wing.
"Ow!" She screeched. Deciding it was best to land, Daring quickly made for he desert below. As she rushed to the ground, Daring realized there was another pony down there. No! It coudn't be!
"Kiwistreak?" Daring Do aske in amazement. Kiwistreak, who it was indeed, turned around. A smile tugged at her mouth.
"Look at that! Daring Do, bacl from her travels!" She cheered. Daring and Kiwistreak embraced each other in a wam hug. Finaly, Daring stepped bacl to examine her friend.
Kiwistreak had been named for her colors. Her coat was a dull brown, not unlike Daring's, and her mane was a dull brown-green. The only touch of bright color was the blue maneband that held back her mane and tail.
"How's the gang?" Daring asked. "And what are you doing out here?"
"Um, the gang's back at Dodge Junction," Kiwistreak replied, her smile faltering. "I'm out here to see if I can collect any cacti for an upcoming party in Villa de Sies."
"You mean that old village that we were told was haunted?" Daring asked. "I'll come along for the ride, I'm takin' a break from jungled amd hitting the desert." Kiwistreak shrugged.
"I hope you won't be disappointed. Villa de Sies is very quiet. No ghost here. Still, maybe you'll come to find an adventure in the party." Daring nodded.
"It's so good to see you!" She suddenly burst. "Now, c'mon, where's Villa de Seis? It must be a good little town."
The two old friends chattered as Kiwistreak led the way to Villa de Seis. Kiwistreak was a well-liked pony in the town.

Ditch. Dare. Do!
Ditch. Dare.
