Being the love child of a rock star is the least of Jamie Joan Bender's problems. After living in the shadow of her brilliant half-sister's music career, Jamie takes on the job of being her famous father's road manager, and is thrust into the world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Life in the jet-set is a dream, until her charmed existence ends in DIVORCE.
Clawing her way back from despair, Jamie earns her own celebrity as a radio host, survives joint custody of her daughter, and tolerates an unruly Labrador retriever. But, how will she manage her father's endless affairs, her sister's lesbian marriage, a former road manager's vengeance, and the appearance of a new woman in her ex's life?
For Jamie, true love doesn't come easy. It starts with DIVORCE.
Jessie Bishop Powell has been writing since she was ten years old. She
first composed on a Remington Rand manual typewriter, until the ribbon
simply disintegrated into the keys one day. From there, she moved to a
Smith-Corona electric typewriter, which only survived her enthusiasm
for about six months. She bought her first PC at a yard sale for $50
and wrote using MSWorks for DOS for the next two years (and junker
motherboards). After she had learned how to just put the machine
together herself, she got a real job and purchased a correspondingly
updated bit of technological heaven.
She has two perfectly worthless Master’s Degrees, in English and
Library Science, from the University of Kentucky, and she teaches
English Composition full time for the American Public University
system. She lives in Montgomery, AL with her husband, Scott, their two
children, Caroline and Sam, and their big dog Fudge. You can follow
