Meet the Author

Nicola Rhodes (author of the Tamar Black Saga, The SCI'ON Trilogy and a few more besides)often can't remember where she lives so she lives inside her own head most of the time, where even if you do get lost, it's still okay.

She has met many interesting people inside her own head and eventually decided to introduce the rest of the world to them, in the hopes that they would stop bothering her and let her sleep.

She has been doing this for ten years now but they still won't leave her alone.

She is married to the long suffering Mike who lives in Derby because he is not crazy (well not much anyway) and they have three girls between them.

She wrote this book for fun and does not care if you take away a moral lesson from it or not.

A really fun read but poorly edited

This is a remarkably fun and inventive story, well told. The editing is problematic, though, with punctuation errors, dialogue improperly broken into paragraphs, and font sizes that sometimes change from paragraph to paragraph for no reason.

I rarely read more than 30 pages of a book that's this poorly edited, but the story, humor, and style here were enough to get me to read the whole thing. And I don't regret it—it was fun all the way to the end.

    Flawed but good

As other reviewers have said, this book was funny but needs an editor.

    I Also Recommend:

quirky sarcastic FUN for all almost all ages

i really enjoyed this book.its suitable for all ages (ok maybe not toddlers) the writing style reminded me of terry pratchett as its offbeat humor and nonsensical prose was really funny . its a tale of an accidental d'jinn in a bottle trying to get free with the aid of her new master .of course this requires a quest with all the usual odd type characters and obstacles one would expect to find in a fantasy quest . what you don't expect is how well these characters are developed or how much laughter you'll enjoy from their sarcastic banter . i found this one in the free list. after reading it i had to go buy more of denny and tamaras adventures.

    What an interesting read...

I found this book by accident and so i wasn't expexcting anything. So im glad to report that i was pleasantly surprised. This book isn't written like most, it's a story telling in the most original sense (which is an incredibly rare find in today's literary world). The story itself is really quite good, the plot is well thought out and the characters in a way feel more realistic because they're not perfect in any sense of the word. The guy/girl isn't a total hottie and/or beautiful who just happens not to realize they're hot and/or beautiful. Now, this book is not perfect. The transitions between who's talking and when are sometimes hard to figure out and quotation marks are missing on quiet a bit of the dialogue which can be annoying (especially at the begining when your not so familiar with the characters yet) Overall a very enjoyable book.

The first chapter had so many references to Allah, it completely

The first chapter had so many references to Allah, it completely ruined the possibility that the story might be any good. Fiction/fantasy should not stray to the religious references that are so controversial in our time.

    A lot of babbling

I had to force myself to finish the entire 542 pages then wished that I would have given up earlier. I had a hard time getting into this story. At times it was confusing other times I was board and just wanted it to be over with already. There were long streatches when all I could think while reading was yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah as the story just babbled on not making much sense. Sorry just not my kind of story I guess.

    Djinked

I found this book to be cute and funny. The whole concept was original! I don't mind the typo's they didn't detracked from the story and I was amused for free!

    Cute but poor writing

There were words spelled incorrectly and improper grammar all over the book but it was good story. It's a good love story with some action and a little mystery thrown in. I suggest it to anyone who won't stop reading at the first error on a page.

    Highly Recommend

I loved the writing style -- very tongue in cheek.

I don't know if my copy downloaded wrong of if the it's the book itself, but there were several pages missing. So they were some gaps but not serious enough to lose the storyline. Although I would like to know how they figured out the clue.

    Good story with problems

I very much enjoyed the story, but several glaring problems detracted greatly from my enjoyment. First, as mentioned by another reviewer, the editing is non-existant. My second complaint is an ancient Greecian woman thinking and talking in modern day British slang.
