    Great informative book

I wish that this were back in print, and with a newer edition. It covers a diverse range of musicians from the 50s through the early 90s, with personal, career, and entertaining miscellaneous info. Well organized and well researched. A must have for the true rock geek, you'll have to buy it used I guess.

    Disappointing

Usually a DK book is THE DEFINITIVE book on its topic. The problem with this book is that they tried to include far too much trivial detail. You probably won't find this level of detail to be interesting, unless the star in question happens to be your son or daughter, and then you wouldn't want it for anyone else in the book. As a result of this approach, the type used in the book is extremely small. Also, you would expect a DK book on this subject to have definitive photos of ALL of the well-known stars, another feature that is lacking. I would suggest the author and editor go back to the drawing board.
