Beautiful images and informed writing are a hallmark of the eyewitness series. This book continues on that tradition. I found that it was a very helpful book for me to plan a recent trip to Scotland. Particularly inspiring were the pictures of the highlands and of Scotland's glorious castles! The illustrations were great for arm-chair traveling both before and after our trip. Each of the regions of Scotland are well represented and there are very detailed listings of all significant sights in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. I find the tour book goes beyond the basics and is very comprehensive, and thus, is both a useful tool and a pleasant read. 'Lang may yer lum reek! (Long may your chimney smoke!)
