DNA
W. Craig Reed
RAIN Publications, 2008
ISBN: 9781419654626
Reviewed by Dave Faulkenburg for ReviewYourBook.com, 12/08
2 Stars
Disappointing¿
I regret to say I had higher expectations from this book and author after reading the jacket cover. ¿Intelligent Design or Darwin¿s Evolution? Discovering the truth can be fate.¿ I wasn¿t thinking about it leaning towards science fiction. I was looking for an action adventure that incorporated science and faith.
In some ways, this is incorporated into the story with references to prayer and God; but, we really have a story about aliens and their involvement in early human development. This story line to me was a disappointment.
I liked several of the characters who were developed by the author and could visualize them in my mind. At the same time, some of the characters seemed stereotyped to the max. I was taken back, too, by some parts in the story line that seemed just too implausible for what had happened earlier. (Example: Good guys have formula for major biological weapon and are transported to south Korea by nuclear sub. Then are let off due to ¿scheduling¿ of the sub and will later be going by air. Early the next morning the primary bad guys just happen to show up and start killing everyone around the home they were staying in. How did ¿they¿ know to go to Seoul? What house to find them in and in such a timely fashion?)
Would I recommend this book? No.

Kaseem is a terrorist who recruited a group of Russian scientists with the intention of creating a biological weapon that could potentially eliminate two-thirds of the world's population. Unfortunately one of the scientists is brought in against her will and as George and the team spoil Kaseem's plans he falls in love with Annelia and she's taken away from him under ill-fated circumstances.

Fast forward sixteen years later and a new bad guy is working on the same bio-weapon and Annelia is taken against her will again.

I usually describe more of the book but I feel like I¿d give away too much if I added anymore. The book was action packed from the first page and I kept reading long past the time when I would have put down any other book.

The storyline is unique with an extremely surprising ending. I enjoyed the interaction between the characters especially the Navy Seal team members. The one thing I think the book is lacking is just a little more background to the characters so that they become a little more real to the reader. Other than that I recommend this book for all action and thriller lovers.
