Do NOT Turn This Page (The Impossibly Impertinent Papers Book 1) by Bernice Seward is targeted at seven to ten-year-olds, (Middle and Upper Grade 5) including reluctant readers and children who struggle with reading comprehension. In addition, it caters for dyslexic readers with large text and a special font that is adapted to make reading easier for them. The title describes Ms Seward's approach very aptly; how many children can resist doing something they are told numerous times not to do? Her readers are even invited to download a free Flip Happy Page Turner Certificate if they answer "yes" to at least three of five quiz questions at the end of the book.

Bernice Seward has made it impossible not to read her book. Can you resist the temptation to turn a page? I didn't; I became more and more curious to know what Marvin was hiding. "Would you discover a secret code?" I love codes, and who doesn't enjoy breaking them to find secrets? "Would you uncover a mystery?" I love mysteries, and I bet you do too! After that Marvin gets REALLY tempting, and I did turn the page. Oops, now I am in trouble. Bricks may come flying at me. Well, I survived to write this for you so how about you reading Marvin's book too? He did say he'd tell my mother, but guess what? Marvin doesn't know my mother. Go on, I DARE you to turn the pages.
