Use Doctor Mozart workbooks by themselves or with other method books. Use them for music lessons and for home schooling.

Content

The three books in Level 1 explore the following topics in depth:

Level 1A:

  • Pitch: The treble and bass clefs. The names of notes on the staff and keyboard. The C major triad.

  • Musical Time: Quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes. Bar lines and measures.

Level 1B:

  • Pitch: All the notes on the treble and bass staffs.

  • Musical Time: Half, whole, and quarter notes and rests. Time signatures.

Level 1C:

  • Pitch: The grand staff. Diatonic and chromatic semitones. Accidentals. Enharmonic notes.

  • Articulation: Staccato, legato, slurs, accents, terminology, and dynamics marks.

A colorful Certificate of Achievement at the end rewards students for their effort.

Note that Level 1A, 1B, and 1C are three separate books. Together, they are an improved and expanded version of the original Level 1, which was a single book.
Be sure to order all three of the new books, including Level 1A, 1B, and 1C, to cover the topics found in the original Level 1.
Also note that most students should complete all three Level 1 books before attempting Level 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, or 3C.

Here is some enthusiastic feedback from studio music teachers:

"As a Certified Teacher of Kelly Kirby Kindergarten Piano, I have several of my young - 4 and 5 year olds - using the Doctor Mozart Book - They are enjoying it immensely and commend you for your work." D.L., Alberta.

"I must tell you - our little ones (Kindergarten and 1st graders) especially love this book. It is the perfect amount of reiteration that they need to get it into their heads. I'm really impressed with how much they enjoy doing their theory work. I would say 9 out of 10 times they don't neglect their Dr. Mozart work. If anything is going to get done during the week - it is their pages in Dr. Mozart." L., Huntington Center for the Arts, Monroe, LA

"I have been searching for a theory book which will enhance the piano student's lessons rather than bore them. I have also been unable to find theory books which focus on linking the keyboard to the staff. The Doctor Mozart theory book is filled with everything for which I have been searching. The pages are colorful, and there are interesting, fun tips that help students retain information in ways not found in the traditional theory books. I was THRILLED to find that this book has many sections dedicated to helping the student realize which staff note each key on the piano is related to. Thank you!" J.K., Maple Grove, Minnesota
