I've been a Dr. fan since the early 70's. I just got this book to kill time while waiting for the release of the sixth "Alchymyst" book.
The story was well constructed with references to original series episodes. The plot, real historical characters, and settings were a pleasant surprise over the typical script novelization I was expecting.
I'll be looking out for more of Andy Lane's work from now on.

I wish there were more Doctor Who stories available. This story was great but the formatting is rotten. Something to show when the scene changes would be good.

As a big fan of Doctor Who, I enjoy anything to do with it. This being no exception. This actually would have gotten 5/5 out of me but the formatting of this eBook makes it a bit harder to read. There are some typos or missing space bars in places. You may also want to just turn the page instead of following the link in the Contents page. I tried that and it skipped the Prologue.

This novel brings back memories of the old Doctor Who. I like the two latest Doctor Whos better. Smith and Tenant.

Overview
Turning her attention back to the ship, she could see sailors scurry across the rigging like spiders on a cobweb. One of them turned around and gazed back toward the coast, shielding his eyes with his hand. His chest was bare, and he wore a bandana around his head. Seeing her, he waved in big, sweeping gestures. She waved too, choking back a sob. It was Jim: even at that distance she recognised his sun-bleached hair, drawn back in a tarred pig-tail and bouncing ...
