Meet the Author

Joan Palmer is the author of more than two dozen studies of pets. Her book, A Dog of Your Own, won a Best Multi-Breed Book Award from the Dog Writers’ Association of America, Inc. A member of the Society for Companion Animal Studies and various canine breed clubs, she exhibits her dogs in the show ring. She also owns an Appaloosa gelding and a pet donkey and divides her time between London and the Scottish Solway coast, where she enjoys walking her dogs, studying local history and wildlife, gardening and music.

This book is one of the best dog books I've ever read.It teaches you how to train your dog from housetraing to walking him on a leash. You'll read it over and over again.

If u are a first time dog owner or u just like dogs than you will love this book! It gives you a lot of info on health, care, feeding, breeding, and it shows you the descriptions of a lot of popular breeds. This was my first dog book and i am sure you will enjoy it to.
