If you like a little suspense and humor in your romance, are entertained by stories with dogs as side-kicks, love Texas locales, descriptions that are liberal and lovely, and enjoy bumpy rides to love, you'll get a kick out of this second book in Rae Renzi's RiverTime Series.

The heroine (Ditsy Tarkington) and the hero (Nocona Wiley) were originally introduced in Ms. Renzi's first book, RiverTime, and the chemistry between Ditsy and Nocona, which was a lovely promise in RiverTime, is fully fleshed out (pardon the pun) in DogDaze. The conflict centers on Ditsy's inheritance and her need to marry a man of `good blood', instead of the man she is truly in love with, Nocona, who is a foundling with no known ancestry.

Ms. Renzi has a knack for creating quirky characters and humorous situations. Ditsy has a biting wit, and her name certainly is appropriate when she and her new friend begin their own sleuthing into a possible dognapping ring. Meanwhile, her ex, Nocona, is busy on his own investigation into a possible drug trafficking organization. I won't say more, but just know, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way, and there were times I couldn't see how Ditsy and Nocona were ever going to get to their happy ending together, but the author managed it beautifully.

Click that buy button, you won't regret it!
