Want to know how we got where we are and what to do about it? This book was written to answer these questions.
Mr. Goyette takes us through the breakdown that we suffered step by step. I had forgotten about all of the banks that failed (or were about to) and it was useful to be reminded of the stunning breadth of the failures that occurred.
If you're familiar with the machinations that have caused the dollar to lose 95% of its value since the Fed was created you already know a large part of this story. If you're not familiar with that fact you WILL be educated. If you wonder why an auditorium filled with students, in China, will laugh in the face of our Treasury Sect'y when he assures them that the US Gov. believes in the importance of a "strong dollar", if you wonder why the government is borrowing more and more money when national and personal debt are at all time highs, is you wonder what the government will do to when no one in their right mind will lend us any more money-- read this book and you will learn the answers.
And you will learn about certain things you can do to protect yourself. And the people you care about.
Goyette maintains that the government is destroying our currency rather than make some very tough political decisions, and that since this is the path our political class has taken you have every right to protect yourself from their folly. And he provides a lot of very useful information on how you can do that starting right now.
A great read. In fact it is incredibly well written, which is a nice bonus.

This book is the Ultimate Financial 'Conspiracy Theory" that the ONLY viable form of currency is gold & silver. Is a true doomsday philosophy that the dollar & all forms of paper (Euro, Marc etc) currency exchange will be 'soon' worthless & so the only reliable form of exchange, besides precious metals would be commodities. It is a good recommendation for preparation for Dec 21, 2012.

Overview
The New York Times bestseller-an investment book for the coming age of high inflation. On the heels of the most recent economic crisis, America is headed toward another: high inflation and dollar devaluation. The signs are clear: Federal debt is compounding while growth has stalled, and America's foreign creditors are questioning the dollar's reserve currency status. Meanwhile, the "hidden" federal debt, much larger than the official debt, makes things even worse.
But the good news, according to Charles Goyette, is that those who are prepared can protect themselves-and even ...
