Overview

When Cate Kinkaid receives a frantic call about a triple homicide, she drives to the scene against her better judgment--aren't triple homicides more up the police department's alley?--only to find that the victims are not quite who she expects. Now she has a new rule to add to those she's learned in her short stint as an assistant private investigator: always find out if the victims actually have human DNA. Because these three do not.

But who would shoot this nice lady's dolls? What possible reason could the shooter have? And then there's the startling discovery of another victim, who definitely does have human DNA . . .

With tension that is matched only by humor, Dolled Up to Die is the exciting second book in Lorena McCourtney's The Cate Kinkaid Files. Mystery fans won't find a place to stop and take a breath in this fast-paced and intriguing tale.

I really enjoyed this 260 page. Christian, murder mystery. It is a very clean read, has some religion, no adult themes and the violence and murders are very non descriptive. The characters are likable. The editing perfect. There is a dab of humor and romance. By the complete conclusion, all threads were tied off except for one, why were the dolls shot? This is the second book of the series and this one was just as good as the first. The sub plot about the cat and her inheiritence is pretty silly, but I have heard of such things. I enjoed this cozy, chick lit mystery and will purchase the next book. I paid $2.99 for this book, plus tax. For ages 14 and up. AD

Dolled Up to Die is the second book in The Cate Kinkaid Files and a lighthearted murder mystery. Cate is an Assistant P.I. and a bit of a bumbling one, but somehow she always comes out of the messes she gets herself into. I enjoyed the characters in this story and how well the book flowed. If you haven't read book one, no worries, Dolled up to Die stands alone. I really enjoyed this book and may even read it again at some point. I gave it five stars, but if allowed would have fit it between four and five stars. It's much better than very good, but seriously there are very few books that I consider exceptional--maybe one or two. I received this book for the purpose of reviewing. This is my honest opinion. I was not required to give a positive review.

As entertaining as the previous book. It was an absolute joy to follow Cate as she works her way through another maze of clues to find a killer. She was joined again on this trip by Uncle Joe, Rebecca, Octavia, and Mitch. We had a new cast of victims, clients and suspects which were nicely developed and presented. The mis-steps that Cate made on this case were as humorous as the ones on the first case. She has made progress in her skills as a PI, but it is very apparent that she has much more to learn about the job.

My new favorite series. Care Kincaid is a delightful Christian fun character. She gets herself in some serious situations and meets them with courage, humor, and prayer. Great light reading and seriously entertaining.

This was a light mystery with a likable PI. The killer was a surprise, but no one tells you why the crime was really committed. Cute story, not awesome.

The plot had anough turns and twists in it to keep me guessing and at times, I was afraid the bad guy would win. Throughly enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to reading more of Cate's adventures.

The story and characters were interesting, and there was much incidental humor. The main character, Cate, is a klutz who ends up doing well, in spite of herself. Her many capers link her to all sorts of people, animals, and places. The ending is exciting and unexpected.
