Overview

Whisked away to a remote island in the Aegean Sea, Nebraska girl Anna finds herself cut off from the world, alone with her billionaire boss. When both reveal vulnerabilities neither suspect, they find themselves drawn together by loneliness. Can Anna break down the walls that make him cold and distant, or will his suspicion push him away?

Explicit adult material, light domination, 4800+ words.

Excerpt:

"I can't believe I'm telling you this," Anna said, standing. "I should go to bed."

"Sit down, Anna." His firm tone let her know that he expected immediate obedience, and Anna's knees almost buckled as she sat back down.
Butterflies fluttered in her stomach. This was the Caine she knew, a man used to getting everything he wanted when he wanted it. He stepped closer, blocking her view of the dark ocean behind him. "We both know what boys want," he said. "What about you?"

She looked up into his sharp black eyes and forced her voice not to tremble. "What do you mean?"

"What do you want, Anna? Why do you work for me? I don't pay you well enough for the eighty-hour weeks you put in."

Her mind raced; Caine had never turned his suspicious mind on her before. It wasn't fair; he had started this conversation, and she had only been honest with him. "I don't know what I want," she admitted, throwing up her hands. "I'm afraid of change, I guess." And you fascinate me.

Caine glared down at her for a long moment. "When you were with those not-so-serious boyfriends, what did they do to you?" He had a way of switching topics suddenly to keep people off balance.

Anna let out a wry chuckle. "They were both young and eager," she said. "All groping hands and hungry lips at first, but when they finally got my clothes off, they were scared and didn't know what to do."

Caine shook his head sadly. "Such a wasted opportunity, not to take full advantage of a beautiful woman."

Then take advantage, Anna urged him silently. Stop being suspicious and show me what it should be like.

As if reading her mind, Caine seemed to come to a decision. He nodded, frowning, then said, "We've both been alone for too long, Anna."

She blinked. "What do you mean..."

"Shh," he said, then reached out and took her hand in his. He pulled her up off the couch and led her to the big window. Anna stared out at the moonlit surf, and Caine moved behind her. She trembled as his fingertips pushed a lock of blonde hair behind her ear, then traced a slow line down the side of her neck.

"Mr. Caine, I don't think we should..."

"Quiet," he said, almost snapping. "You'll do what you're told."

Anna snapped her mouth shut, and Caine's other arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her close. His mouth found her neck, and she sighed as his lips teased her skin.

Anna realized that she would do whatever Doyle Caine asked, but not because she would be stranded and alone on the far side of the world without him. His lips on her neck held the same vulnerable warmth he had exposed to her earlier, a desire to be near someone he could trust, despite the thick walls he'd built around himself.

She surrendered to his touch, relaxing against his body as his hand slid beneath her silk blouse to caress the soft skin of her belly. His deft fingers unfastened her skirt and pushed it down over the swell of her hips. The garment fell in a heap on the tile floor, and Anna pushed it aside with one foot. Caine's hands reached up beneath her arms to unbutton her blouse, then he pulled it down off her shoulders. His mouth moved from her neck to her collarbone, and every brush of his lips sent a tingle through her body. Anna's head rolled back to nuzzle against Caine's shoulder, and she moaned as he cupped her breasts, squeezing through the lace of her bra.
