Just then, the door opened behind her. Danielle gasped in fright, not expecting someone else to be here. She turned around and found the smiling face of Aaron Laurence. “Oh, I guess you’re having as much trouble as I am finding the bathroom.”

Danielle’s heart still beat at a million miles a minute. “Ummm yeah” she replied.

“You’re Danielle Korpen, aren’t you, the receptionist in property management?” he asked.

“Yes, that’s me” Danielle replied. “I’m so sorry about the confusion when you came to our floor. I should have recognized you, but I dropped the ball. I really apologize, and it will never happen again.”

Aaron laughed. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it. In fact, I’m thrilled that you treated a customer you didn’t recognize so well, you have great customer service skills Danielle.”

“Oh... thank you” Danielle replied, not expecting that kind of reaction.

“I have to be honest Danielle. I asked Regina about you, then I asked around. Word is you’re extremely intelligent, and you’re beautiful to boot.”

Danielle didn’t know what to say, so she stayed silent, but her face went crimson.

Aaron moved and stood straight in front of Danielle. She felt like she should take a step back, but something kept her glued to the spot. “You’re so damn beautiful Danielle, I have to have you” he whispered into her ear. Despite every warning bell going off in her head, every part of her brain telling her this was a terrible idea, Danielle stayed still. Aaron moved his mouth down to hers. His lips were soft and inviting as they explored Danielle’s. She kissed him back, placing her arms on his chest. Fire ran through Danielle’s veins as her body enjoyed the sensations of being kissed. She hadn’t even tried to find a boyfriend since she moved to New York, it simply hadn’t been important to Danielle. Now her body wanted her to make up for the lack of intimacy she’d had for the last few months.
