THIS BOOK TOLD THE STORY OF HOW A YOUNG MAN CAME FROM THE GHETTO. HE TOLD HIS LIFE MISTAKES AND DOWN FALLS. I HAVE ENJOYED MOST OF THE BOOKS I READ BY HIM. I LIVE IN DETROIT, MI AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD HE TALKED ABOUT AND MOST OF THE THINGS IS STILL GOING ON. I LOVE AUTHORS WHO TALK ABOUT REALITY. I WISH HE COULD WRITE MORE.
This book is simply a collection of theories of the series of books Mr. goines has written. This biography merely contains excerpts of goines life. He never really explains his family life or how he grew up. He never even touches on the individual relationships he had with members of his family, that gave donald his strong sense of family throughout his ordeal of a life. His wife sally, who Stone briefly mentions, is never given the chance to tell of the relationship they had, nor does he describe how she was the backbone of Goines as well as his family. This book is poorly written with the author having little or no knowledge of donald goines and should not even be considered as anything but a book of how not to WRITE!!!!!!!!!!
