Overview

It's a doodle book. It's a notebook. Actually, it's both.

Great for ages 10 to 110, this doodle notebook is anything but the usual cute and quaint kind. It's subversive, irreverant, and most of all FUN! Overview

It's a doodle book. It's a notebook. Actually, it's both.

Great for ages 10 to 110, this doodle notebook is anything but the usual cute and quaint kind. It's subversive, irreverant, and most of all FUN! That's why every kid (and many adults too!) will want this fool-the-teacher notebook that offers oodles of doodle possibilities when the brain needs a break. On the surface, it looks exactly like one of those innocuous black-and-white marble composition books. But inside it has cartoons to imitate, unfinished doodles to complete, and games to play. Plus, it includes the scoop on what really happens in the teacher's lounge. Spark up a boring moment by competing in a caption contest, designing your own logo, making temporary tattoos, and mastering the art of note-passing and creating secret codes. Of course, since the teacher just might come walking by at any moment, there are even actual class notes to turn to.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
From doodles to scrapbooks to books for cuddling, kids can use pages to dream, write and draw. The Don't-Get-Caught Doodle Notebook by Susan McBride looks like a plain ole composition book but will deliver daydreamers from despair. McBride's own doodles and suggestions act as catalyst, with tips on how to draw a proportioned face, shade properly and with facts about other doodlers, such as Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci and John Lennon. Doodlers are encouraged to fill the pages with their own art. Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.

    Doodles for the win ?

I like this book, except for the fact that my teachers don't care if im doodling in class, so that makes it less fun. But everything drawn in the book, does look realistic. My friends thought i drew them (yeah right, im not even a good artist) This book helped me with my shading and it gave me excellent colors to put on my self portrait painting. I messed up my face though D: anyways, we have new teachers now and some do look funny so i drew my english teacher with his funny curly hair in this book. I've drawn random kiddy stuff like rocketships and tornadoes. I enjoy books that i can really express my creative ideas in.

    Good gift idea

My 7 year old son got this as a gift and loves it. There are tons of things to do - he especially loved the morse code and has been writing his friends "secret messages" in morse code. Nice alternative to giving a video game or gift card for a birthday gift.
