All Music Guide - Jared Johnson
Don't Get Comfortable was, contrary to its title, one of the smoothest, easiest-to-go-down helpings of smart, contemporary Christian pop to surface in 2006. The album was a strong showing for Brandon Heath, who signed to the heavyweight Reunion Records roster (home to Casting Crowns and Michael W. Smith, among others). The native Nashville singer exhibited a host of skills honed after years of collaborating within the CCM songwriting community. Heath rose from the songwriting ranks to become a fully developed artist, eventually partnering with Bebo Norman, Matt Wertz (who happened to be his roommate at the time), Dave Barnes, Chad Cates, Philip LaRue and Ben Glover. The album was a strong showing for Brandon Heath, who signed to the heavyweight Reunion Records roster (home to Casting Crowns and Michael W. Smith, among others). Heath rose from the songwriting ranks to become a fully developed artist, eventually partnering with Bebo Norman, Matt Wertz (who happened to be his roommate at the time), Dave Barnes, Chad Cates, Philip LaRue and Ben Glover. His former aspirations to be behind the music eventually took him behind the mic, where his flavor for storytelling connected with audiences almost immediately. "I'm Not Who I Was" became an instantly recognizable anthem for forgiveness, and "Our God Reigns" received a Dove nomination for best worship song. The album had few inconsistencies, and the quality of Heath's songwriting was of the highest caliber. Don't Get Comfortable was a bright spot for those who sought insightful stories that resonate within one's soul.

    Enjoyable

Though not a favorite, I thought this was a very enjoyable, relaxing album to listen through. I received this album from my girlfriend, and I must say, Brandon Heath is pretty neat. I may hafta check out his other album as well. I am a man of many tastes in music, but there are some genres of stuff that I am not as knowledgable in, but thanks to my girlfriend and Air 1 & some other various stations, my knowledge of genres that I have previously not been as familiar with is starting to improve drastically. My iPod now contains a pleasant mix of all sorts of different musical styles, and I have friends who have been and are going to help me improve that mix, so that's awesome. Brandon Heath is another good artist that has further improved my shuffled musical archive. Props! If you enjoy good relaxing, pop rock or contemporary music, this album is definitely a good one. Check it out!

    Brandon Heath is AMAZING!

You know a musician is truly talented if they can sing live and sound just as good, if not better, than they do on their albums. Brandon Heath is one of these artists. I was very fortunate to see him in concert for a week while in Malibu Canada. The music is catchy but also relaxing. The lyrics are touching and are easy to relate to. Brandon Heath is definitely a talent and it shows on this CD!
