Emmett Love has settled down with the love of his life, Gentry the ex-whore, and they're running the Lucky Spur Saloon in Dodge City, circa 1861. They're in un-wedded bliss and they've got a pet bear, to boot. About the time his old buddies Shrug and Rose show up, all Hell breaks loose. Emmett's made Sheriff. Then his world comes crashing down in a shocking plot twist.

Easy...John Locke. With his brilliant use of language, Locke paints visual images that seem real. The dialog between Emmett Love and his cluster of misfits makes you laugh out loud. Along side the humor is a great thriller. Picture if you can...Jason Bourne and Monty Python do Dodge. I give it 5 hearty pokes!

Just finished and am amazed once again. What a wonderful story with such great characters. My heart is in my throat at the sadness but still had laugh out loud moments throughout. Waiting for next installment.

I loved this book! After reading Follow the Stone, I couldn't wait for this book to come out! It was hard to put down and kept me interested from start to finish! The ending was a little abrupt, I hope the next installment is coming soon!

I have read all of this authors books and enjoyed some better than others. This is one of my favorites. With the "name" authors publishers asking ridiculous prices for ebooks - its refreshing to see that even as popular as Mr. Locke is he(and his publisher)have not messed with what works. Great writing and a great value. I now have my husband hooked on John Locke and look forward to reading more!

This second book of the series only had about 150 pages, after taking into account all the crap pages. I paid $1.99 for this book. It was near as good as the first book and was totally unrealistic because of all the paranormal stuff thrown in. There was some editing issues and there was an open conclusion withno resolution what so ever. I really enjoyed the first book and I bought the next two. I have not read the third one yet. I would not have purchased it, if I had read this one first. There is some sexual references, and sex without details, alot of lewd remarks and some cursing. There is violence and murder with very mild details. No religion. There is some humor and rather lame romances. This is not the worst book I have ever read, nor is it the best. It is only slightly below average. I gave it three stars because of the humor. For ages 18 and up. Not chick lit, just a rather strange, fast read. AD

I have come to love this series. You can't find good westerns except for a few authors like John Horst and now John Locke. This series isn't a serious take on westerns, but it has the right amount of history along with all the shenannigans that the characters get into. Especially Emmitt Love. I like this series so much that I am now buying the rest of the Emmitt stories. I will also have to check out this Donovan Creed, since he seems to be a descendant of Emmitt Love.

OK, so I enjoyed the book in spite of a few glitches. The story set in 1861 didn't take into account that rifles were single-shot muzzle-loaders and pistols though 6 shot were also cap and ball. Both were very slow to reload. I was impressed with Emmett's involvement in the Civil War but disappointed that the story ended so quickly. I guess I'll have to get the next book to see what happens. Mr. Locke may not write classics for the ages but they are fun to read.

With only up to 7 attacks it can learn, Fennekin learns very slowly. Much slower than the others. Now Gogurt- err, Gogoat! The grass goat! You can ride it, battle with it, or race them aginst trainer across the world! I want to intruduse you to; horn leech! Not much is know about Gogur- Gogoat, so on to Heliotile. The elictric lizerd. With attacks like soler beam and hiperbolec charge. What a mouthfuk! Now the bird of the regin, drumrole please!, Flechling! This nornal-flying has fire moves! Ammazing right? Flame charge and rage make a good combo for this little bird. The bear of regin of Kalos, its......Panchum! This panda with the classic leaf sticking out of its mouth stares into the oppents eyes to make them flinch. The Eevee evouliontion? Slyvion! This either Fairy or Normal, this pokemons card player attack can paralise. Yvetal and Xerneas are the leadendery pokemon of the regin. Only their pictures have been released. So onto the reigen itself. Kalos. You are belived to start in a Paris like invierment. The city called Luimene is where we, the pokemon freaks, belive you will start. Some belive a little place with 4 small houses and 1 giant house with an even larger tree is behinde the large house. Also charter and pokemon custimasation. Pokemon custamasaition: ribbens, bows, hsts, and shoes. Charecter custamasion: hats, sunglasses, pants, dress', shirts, bags, hair coler, and skin color. And who will you be? There is a choice betwean 3 female trainers, 3 male trainers, or just make your own! So benchs? Rollerskates? Fontains? All true! Benches where you can sit down! Fontains that you can drink from! Rollerskates to get aroubd faster! Now the pokedex? Ahhhhh its based off iphone and iphone touch. Realy funny, right? Now abou Kalos itself. Its name is Kalos. It has a disstient star shape. It is belived to be based off France, Uorup, or Austraila! This star shape is like the tip of France. Kalos dissplaces all the seasons: spring, summer, autum, and winter.
