This baby seems to be able to sleep through anything, but suddenly the buzz of a fly brings him wide-awake. Learning how he gets back to sleep is part of the fun. Part of the picture reader category in the "All Aboard Reading" series, this book is a delightful short tale for the pre-reader. Using rebus pictures interspersed in simple text, children will enjoy the topic and humor. Included are 24 paper flash cards to cut from the back, having the picture to match the text on one side and the word on the other. The quirky illustrations are colorful and realistic. As a teacher/media specialist, I would make a pocket on the inside cover to hold the flash cards, perhaps color-coding them to match the cover border.

    A Winner

    My 18 month old loves this book. The rebus pictures help her to follow the story and she learns some basic naming of objects as well. We've read this book every day for over a month now!
