Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
HUNGRY MIND
"Our guides for these trips are a trio of computer illustrations...They show up among the stunning photographs and offer friendly and amusing quips...you almost get the feeling you are on safari with the Simpsons."
Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
Real photographs have been mixed with cartoon illustrations (computer manipulation) with inset text. The photos show an animal such as a hippo which floats and contrasts it with another that doesn't. The cartoon creature offers factual commentary "Hippos float in rivers to stay cool during the hottest part of the day" The contrasting pairs and text don't follow the pattern of the first two, so the book loses its momentum and is not really effective at comparing and contrasting. A good idea, but it just doesn't work well in this board book. Part of the "doodlezoo" series.
