This is the first chapter of the legendary space opera based on the bestselling computer game. From the Gateways between the two moons came strange, garbled messages for help--then nothing. Doom...that's such a cool word...DOOOOOOOMMM!!!!

Awesome. As I read the book, I imagined Flynn Taggart in his little sixteen bit form blowing away the 2-D demons. Gives great insight into the Doom universe and gives more of a sense of claustraphobia and sheer terror. Awesome. Hell on Earth is a bit iffy but definitely do NOT buy Infernal Sky or Endgame because first, they kill the Doom series completely and second, it's a waste if money.

    Totally Great Read

Knee-Deep In The Dead is an incredible supplement to the Doom computer games from years ago. The novels add a whole new atmosphere to the Doom universe, with great plots, awesome characters and vivid characterizations that put you right into the action. The book adds more detail to the storyline of Doom and has a good sci-fi content added into the mix among the classic space soldier theme. I definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy action and great plotlines. I could barely put the book down when I first got it and even if you don't read it for a while, you'll get hooked again once you read the first few pages. It's that good.

    CAN'T STOP!!!

This book was probably one of the most amazing books I've read. I used to play the game on my computer all the time, and the book and game compliment eachother nicely. I got so wrapped up in this book...I just couldn't put it down. The way this book is written makes it easy to read so putting it down for the night is hard. The book provokes the reader to conjure up off the wall visuals with it's careful and in depth description. It's a perfect book for those sci-fiers who enjoyed movies like 'Event Horizon' or 'Sphere.' My previous experiences with 'Doom' the game only made the book so much better. Hand in hand, reading the book gave the game more substance and purpose. This is easily my favorite book.

Doom. This is hte name of the next generation of great books.

This book kicked so much that I have been searching for the copies of every other book that has been written in the series, but apparently, they have all been bought and they are currently out of stock. My advice to others is that they sould pick this book up and not put it dwn until they are finished because it kicked.

    Great Book!

This is a great blend of sci-fi and horror! Any fan of the game should buy this book. The addition of supporting characters brings plot and humanity to the endless killing! Great novelization of a great game.

Get Ready For Guts AND Glory!

Most of the reviews you will see are written by most of the same kids over and over again, which is good, but doesn't 'look good' for most adults who are possibly interested in the series. So read this one! I bought this book, because I am a huge fan of the 'Doom' video games, as is most of it's readers. This book put a STORY behind the senseless killing though, and that's just what I love. The story is about Flynn Taggart, a marine who gets busted on Earth for dissobeying a commander, so he is shipped off to Mars to do some labor with civilian 'UAC' workers. However, everything goes wrong! That's where I shut up, and you buy the book. Everytime I finished a chapter, I kept going -- even when the book was done! The sequels get even better (except the final book, which is a complete dud) BUY IT! You'll be wondering afterwords why the movie starring Arnold Shwarzenegger was canceled!

Books that would have been extermly good movies

Well, if you ever played the game then you know that you should expect a movie to come of it. These books, which would have made an excellent movie, provide in detail the story of Flynn Taggart, a marine in the Light Drop and his life or death struggle against a horde of infite aliens. Difinitly a book to check out.
