Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
In this rebus reader, Dora, Diego, and Boots ask the readers for help. They fear that Baby Jaguar is lost and that they need to find him. On each spread, which shows a scene where they are searching, there are clues. For example, there is a tail hanging from a tree. Could it belong to Baby Jaguar? No it is just Snake. There are whiskers behind the tree trunk. Could it be Baby Jaguar? No it is just that pesky fox, Swiper. So it goes, as the various characteristics of a jaguar are identified—tail, padded feet, whiskers, and spots. None of the creatures they find are Baby Jaguar. A surprise awaits them when they return to the Animal Rescue Center. It is a happy one, and Dora and her friends thank the readers for all of their help. Fans of the show will enjoy the book and probably want to read more about their favorite characters. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot

    Great for young ones!

I love the way my child follows the words and reads along with me waiting for his part! It's much more interactive than simply reading the words while your child looks at the pictures. With these books he looks at both the words and the pictures to go with them. Great teaching material!

Good Way to Get Kids Reading

For kids who are reluctant to read, popular characters are a good way to engage them. This author writes a clean, non-violent story for kids to practice with.
